pagar alam: no. 1 - the grand ramble

6:00am off we go on our seven hour journey towards pagar alam.  it was long but very beautiful.

12:30pm i woke up from a nap.  i really needed to pee.  i was told we passed the last gas station while i was asleep.  oh dear.  we still had an hour and a half left!  i told the driver to keep his eyes peeled for a good secluded place for me to go.  luckily, he was hungry, we were hungry, and he knew this place we could eat at that had a bathroom.  to quote chet, it certainly wasn't the shangri la but it did the trick.  my eyes have seen and my nose has smelled quite a variety of bathrooms living here.  family, i have come a long way from our china trip.  ("i am a lady!")

1:30pm as we got closer to mt. dempo (just past pagar alam city center) where we would be staying, the countryside was so beautiful i couldn't believe it.

the driver was playing really insane rave music the whole time which in a way somehow added to the beauty of the scenery.  the air was clear and the temperature was very cool and pleasant as we ascended up the mountain towards a massive storm cloud.

we arrived at villa dempo at 2:00pm.  we checked in and went up to our three bedroom villa nestled in a enormous plot of cabbage (i was in heaven.  i love cabbage)  at a great price (only $35 USD a night for the entire villa) the quaint yellow cottage overlooked all of pagar alam and its tea plantations.  it was a sight to see.

What is this?
