No. 13 : Waterfalls & motorbikes

DAY THIRTEEN: Singaraja antiques, Gitgit waterfalls
The morning began with an early stroll along the beach outside our home stay.  Along the way, I found an egg, a samosa and a potato on the beach.  They were not edible because they were made of rock so I left them and ate a slightly undercooked pineapple pancake instead.

After breakfast we hopped on our motorbikes and scooted off towards Singaraja.  We made a stop at the beach and took some pictures with Ryan's awesome underwater camera.  Don't we look like merpeople?  With legs?  And sunglasses?

We spotted an antique store on the main road in Singaraja and stopped in. I became bff with the lady there.  Her name is Made and she is sweet as pie.  Ryan bought a set of wood carved pieces used in traditional songket weaving looms and it was entertaining trying to figure out how we were going to get them back on a motorbike.  Eventually Made and her son took it on their motorbike and brought it to the home stay.  So nice.

WATERFALL TIME!  I LOVE waterfalls!  We drove to Gitgit waterfalls, unnecessarily paid for a guide (but he was really sweet) and ran straight towards the water.  Well I did, it looks in the picture as though Ryan is in the water but he never actually went it, I want to be clear about that.  It was amazing.  Like a freezing cold massage on your back.

Dinner was in a little village warung.  The family was incredibly friendly and we had a blast talking to them.  We drank some intriguing beverages shown in the image below and ordered rice, pork and vegetables.  After dinner we listened to Mr. Gede play the gamelan with his grandkids.
