no time to finish uploading the other pictures of day two so here's the first part.
gas station.
for those of you who don't know, singapore is famous for its extreme
urban outdoor cart pushing races. take a look at the next picture. this is
taken during the youth section of the race. this kid has won the past four
annual competitions and as you can see, is again clearly in the lead. it won't
be a surprise if he continues winning his way into the young adults league.
i have a feeling we'll be seeing him again for at least the next decade.
he looks as if he's slowing down in this shot but in
reality he was going faster than the bus behind him.
not that he needed to gain any greater of a lead but he really widened the
gap here on commonwealth avenue with his signature move. his gift of
simultaneously pushing, running and turning without losing time (some
might even say he speeds up) has only strengthened his chance as a frontrunner
for the international competition coming up in march (held in iceland of all
places). anyway, it was a real treat to finally get to see this in person.
